but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 29:31 (NIV)
Double digits for the challenge now, wow! I’ve memorised 10 verses and God’s already been using them, bringing them to mind in different circumstances. This has truly been an encouraging experience thus far!
The verse this week completes the section in Isaiah that I have been working through for the past couple of weeks. It is full of encouragement. When we hope and put our trust in God expecting Him to come through for us, we are told that He will renew our strength- we will be able to soar, run and walk without becoming tired, fatigued or exhausted. How powerful is that!
The Holy Spirit enables us to accomplish in Christ what we simply are not able to do on our own. When challenges come our way, do we attack them in our finite human strength and when that runs out, do we give up or give in?
Or do we run to the God we trust as the problems approach so that He can renew us, giving us supernatural strength so that we can overcome the tests in our path?
